I think everytime we experience a break up, theres alot of choices in which we have to make. Each and every decision we make either makes us stronger, or makes us crumble.
Obviously when you're the one dumping the other person, there should be no problem for you to carry on with your life. But when youre the one getting dumped, the chances are you'll be the one feeling sad and moaning the end of the relationship.
Though I saw this coming, it still hurts.
I've been in 6 relationships and this is the 2nd time I'm being dumped.
The first time happened when I was 15 and it was so long ago I almost forgot how it felt like, but at least I still remembered it was HELL for me. Losing your appetite, boxes of tissues used just to wipe away your tears, and who could forget those sleepless nights.
I was really afraid of having to experience those all over again, I was afraid I'd never get back up again.
If I just followed my heart, I would have wept and cried and BEGGED him not to break up with me. But would it work? Obviously not, I know cause thats exactly what I did back then. What did i get after all the commotion? Him remembering me as the crazy ex who lost all her integrity and begged him not to leave.
I would rather have him remember me as the ex who parted ways with him peacefully and at least, we could still be friends.
When we love someone, we want nothing but the best for them, and this is what gives me the strength to walk away and accept the decision he's made. Thankfully I have really awesome friends who were always there for me, and whenever I felt like crying, they stopped the tears from flowing.
I guess the most crucial part is to never ask why.
Never ask why did he not love me anymore
Never ask why all this happened
Never ask why did he break up with me
Those are the questions that I will never ever get the answer to, and they'll crush you.
Being dumped is a very complicated thing.
You want to be in a relationship again just to fill that void he left,
but at the same time,
You dont want to be in a relationship cause you dont wanna experience another heart break again.
ZW brought me to 彩虹眷村 yesterday and I was so so excited!
I've wanted to go there for a very long time cause I saw my friends posting pictures on Facebook and that place seem really pretty
From what I gathered, 彩虹眷村 is a very old village and it's famous for the drawings on the walls of their houses.
They're all drawn by the villagers themselves!
There's a few 眷村 in Taiwan, the one I went to is in Kaoshiong , and there's another famous 彩虹眷村 in Taichung as well.
ZW came here once with his classmates and he said that a lot of stuff are gone now cause this place is gonna be demolished soon.
Almost all of the villagers have already evacuated and the buildings broken down.
So I'm glad at least I got to come here before it's completely demolished.
Our first picture together at 彩虹眷村
Got some of these pictures from other bloggers cause I only took pictures with us in it
Trying to imitate the bunny in pink dress but failed = ="
There's all sorts of different drawings on the walls, there's no specific theme to it and the villagers just drew whatever they liked.
Choppa from One piece!
And a map of the village
Asked him to strike a pose and he chose to squat down and draw circle *faint
He saw his name on the wall and just had to take a picture with it
One of the drawings I loved the most !
This felt like stepping into another world
Again, his usual Ah Beng look
I really really loved mummies so I just had to take a picture !
This is really cute ! They used the window as his head
I'm definitely a cat person. Meow
Got the picture from another blogger as well, when I went there the mailbox was already gone :(
Look! the mailbox was already gone when I went there. I actually thought it was a drawing of a robot and the square is the head But looking at other people's pictures I realized the square is actually his neck. Awww I should have came here earlier ! :(
Samurai Doraemon !
I actually haven't used them in a while cause it's too bulky for me to carry around
But ZW asked me to bring it along, and we took some really pretty polaroid pictures !
Ending my post with a GIF of me, trying to do a ballet pose
#Reason2 -- Starbucks
The number of times I've been to Starbucks during these past few years in Taiwan is actually more than the number of times I've been to a Starbucks in Malaysia my entire life. LOL
Not because I've won the lottery, simply because they have so many promotions going on and sometimes I enjoy studying there.
For instance, whenever you buy tickets from Ibon ( another awesome service available at all 7-11 stores, where you can pay your bills, buy transport tickets or concert tickets etc ), as long as your ticket is over NTD 100, you can use that ticket when you visit any Starbucks and get a buy one get one free offer.
Sometimes they don't really look at your ticket and my friend once bought a ticket from Ibon that cost only NTD 20 and used it to claim the buy one get one free offer from Starbucks. And guess what? He succeeded. LOL
There was another promotion going on not long ago, which works like this : you show them this picture below, via your smart phone or ipad or whatever, and u get to enjoy their buy one get one free offer!
This kinda promotion happens quite often, as a matter of fact, they're having this promotion now ! :D
Jave Chip Frapuccino is definitely my favorite !
I always have friends asking me if I wanna join them for coffee at Starbucks cause they have this Ibon ticket and they want to use it
However they've changed their deal and now instead of getting the second beverage for free, its 50% off your second beverage. Boooo :(
Since I'm posting bout Starbucks, I wanna take this opportunity to thank a friend of mine who bought me a Starbucks mug as christmas present. I just casually told him I wanted a Starbucks mug but still wondering whether to buy it cause it cost like, rm 40 and its just a mug -___-
Anyway, my friend gave me this on Christmas and I really wanna thank him for giving me this awesome Christmas present :) Thank you sooo muchhhh, I'm surrounded by awesome people! So much love !
I actually wanted to write this post in Chinese at first, but I just wanted to share with you guys so badly and im afraid some of you cant read chinese, so ....
Anyway, why am I up so late? Cause I'm knitting a scarf for CG!!! ❤❤
Obviously he doesn't know it yet, I'm gonna give it to him at the airport when he goes back to Macau for our winter break
Well I'm not even halfway there yet, I'm gonna let u guys see where I'm at :
I'm really so excited bout this! It's really fun and not to mention it's my first time knitting a scarf for someone. I think I know what I'll do when I'm on the flight back to Malaysia. I'll knit!! Knitting will definitely kill my boredom
Well why do I suddenly feel like knitting him a scarf?
1. It's really cold in Macau during winter
2. He doenst have a scarf
3. My friend Jia Vui mentioned to me how she was knitting a scarf for her gf (but she gave up = = )
4. I just felt like giving him something special since I wont be seeing him for a month during winter break
So that pretty much sums up how it started.
I have a few people to thank for for this to be made possible.
Firstly it's my classmate LiangYu cause I dont know my way around Kaoshiong at all and he was kind enough to drive me around in search of woolen yarn. Even after we found the store selling yarns he was patient enough to listen to me yapping on and on bout which brand and color to choose. He suggested Navy Blue but in the end I chose Black cause I think black is easier to match. When we walked outta the store I realize I've spent half an hour in there just choosing yarns. He even told me which method to use (apparently there's two ways of knitting a scarf and both uses different tools)
Liang Yu took a picture of me when I was in a dilemma of which color to choose
I was trying to imagine how each colour would look like on CG. LOL
Secondly it's my roommate YiPing. I had no experience in knitting and I was planning on searching for tutorials on Youtube. Then when she walked into the room, I just casually asked if she knows how to knit using 針板, without really expecting her to say yes, but well, she said YES!! OMG she is just so gifted it's like she knows how to do everything. She even ties her hair with a string. yes!! just a long string, not even a rubber band. It's actually exam week now and again she's kind and patient enough to spare some time for me and teach me how to knit a scarf. I'm surrounded by very lovely people :')
Anyway I really love the result, look at the pattern!
There's actually 2 ways of knitting a scarf, either using knitting needles or knitting looms. In this case Im using a rectangular knitting loom :
If you use knitting loom you'll need this too :
Who would have thought you can make a scarf just by using a simple rectangular board and a stick like that?
While knitting I found some things that amazed me.
1. How the yarn didn't snap even though I was pulling at it with considerable amount of strength. You have to pull the yarn below and place it on top of the intertwining yarns above, and sometimes you'll have to pull really hard
2. How can someone come up with such a knitting method?
Sometimes I have no idea what I'm doing and Im just doing what my roommate taught me to and the outcome in the end I get a very nice scarf. This is how I felt like when I was knitting :
I mean , just look at this, it looks just like shoe lace
3. Seeing it born
LiangYu and YiPing told me how this works : you knit on top and gradually a scarf forms from this rectangular hole. I was so excited cause I was dying to see how it'll turn out but you have to knit a few rounds before it comes out from that hole. I felt like I was giving birth to a scarf . When I saw it I was like, Oh, finally I see the head!! :')
It actually reminded me of a paper shredder too, just that this works the other way round .
Spot me and CG's picture in the background ! LOL
Anyway, I think knitting requires alot of patience. It's not hard at all once you get the hang of it since it's just repeating the same thing again and again until you get the length you want. But I actually had to start all over again after knitting for 2 hours just because I left one out and I only realized something was wrong after repeating a few cycles. YiPing told me the yarn would come off and the scarf will be ruined if I ignore it. SIGH. Had to redo the whole thing just because of these two loops! Look how much I've knitted :(
But I guess every cloud does have a silver lining cause during my first time knitting the scarf, I realize the holes were a lil bigger than I wanted. I didnt want the scarf to be too loose cause I think it won't last long that way. The method that YiPing taught me was a little bit different from what was shown on the box when I bought the knitting loom.
So Yi Ping suggested I try the one shown on the box, she thinks the holes will be smaller if we use that method.
And guess what? I think the holes actually got smaller and I prefer this better than the first :)
And YiPing was so kind, she saw my face all depressed because I had to start all over so she offered to knit for me till the scarf was as long as how it was :'(
This was the brand of the woolen yarns that I bought :
There's some samples of the different types of woolen yarns that they have in store, all knitted into a scarf, and we can touch and feel the material before deciding which one to buy.
The store owner told me this is their best selling yarn, and it feels really comfy too.
It's not 100% wool though.
Some of the yarns feels like table cloth = =
One skein of yarn costs 120 NTD(about rm 12), this is the most expensive yarn that they have in store.
Others may cost only 70NTD or so.
It's suggested that three skeins should be enough for a scarf, depending on how long you want it to be.
Well I actually wanted to take a picture of him wearing the scarf at the airport he left for Macau, but we were in such a hurry i forgot bout it.
We broke up like, 2 months ago.
I guess there's no more point in posting pictures of him wearing the scarf anymore, but I really wanted to share this post since it's my first time knitting a scarf from scratch. so yea..
My faculty organizes a medic-camp for high school students in Taiwan every year.
Needless to say, I signed up for it this year! :)
I don't have much workload this year, so I think it's really important for me to take this opportunity and take part in as many activities as I can.
What's Uni life without participating in all these activities anyway?
I've been submerged by all kinds of activities since school started, and I'm having tonnes of fun!
I dont know about other Unis, but there's so much going on in my Uni and I feel that taking part in these activities is part of what studying in Taiwan should be like. The local students take their associations and societies very seriously and are really enthusiastic about it. Since I'm studying here, why not try and experience their culture?
So far I've taken part in almost all their activities and even though the process of preparation can cost you your liver, but after all is said and done, you'll be glad you stuck with it till the end. I think it has made me grow as a person. I've always wanted to push myself even further and stepping outta my comfort zone.
I'm really shy when it comes to talking in front of a crowd, or performing a sketch. I care a lot bout other people's perception of me, which is why I could never take on a silly character when doing a sketch.
But I've always wanted to change that, and I think taking part in these activities made me feel more comfortable in front of a crowd.
I'm extremely thankful for every single opportunity that I'm given and I try to grab hold of every one of them that's thrown my way.
So I mentioned that the latest activity that I took part in is this camp we're organizing for the high school students. We've only had one meeting so far, and the real preparation doesn't start till next semester. So I'll try and blog bout it more often, update on the process rather than just show you guys the outcome, so that you'll know how are things done here :)
I did a photo shoot for them yesterday, used for the posters and brochures that's gonna be distributed. *Fingers crossed it's gonna turn out ok cause I'm guessing a lot of people are going to be able to see it :X *
It's not as easy as I thought, and it took us around 3 hours to wrap things up.
The theme was 007 but it felt more like twilight. LOL
My partner Adam took far less pictures than me during the shoot, he's perfect like that.
It's like every picture he took, he looked handsome in it and me, on the other hand, had a really round face. LOL
Anyway, I wont complain, as long as my seniors get what they want :)
One of my senior, Nicole, took candid pictures of me and Adam when we were doing the photoshoot, but I cant post them here cause I cant 'leak' those pictures.
So I'm just gonna post a picture of Nicole and I, and let you guys catch a glimpse of the oh-so-charming Adam too :)
They even prepared a BB gun for us! and it was heavier than I thought
There's actually alot of reasons why I love Taiwan, but sometimes I'm so used to this place that when my friends ask me what I like about Taiwan, I can't think of any.
I wanted to write a post on this and believe it or not I actually wrote Starbucks as my first reason, but I haven't published it yet though
People always ask me , what is it like to study in Taiwan.
A lot of them have this idea that studying in Taiwan is for those less smart or that its just not a good choice to study here. Even my coach once asked me, why Taiwan?
I honestly dont have an answer, all I could say is, it's not as bad as what others say.
I guess people just think its not a good choice because everyone prefer going to a western country.
Even though admittedly it's really different studying in Australia and in Taiwan, but every Uni has its own style and method, so it's unfair to say which is better.
Whichever Uni I graduate from , I'm still a doctor, so it makes no difference to me.
I believe everything happens for a reason.
I'm glad that I'm here in Taiwan now cause I've met alot of amazing people and made great friends.
Even though when I first got to Kaoshiong I hated it so much cause I'm so used to my life in Taipei and all my friends are there, but if I'm given a second chance, I wouldnt have it any other way.
The people here are awesome! Most people have this misconception that all Taiwanese are like what we see on TV, but my classmates are totally different.
Not all Taiwanese are party animals. Some of my classmates have not even been to a KTV their entire life.
Uni life is super fun too!
There are so many activities here, every other week there's a different tournament going on, I can spend one whole evening at the basketball court supporting my own Uni or my faculty etc.
There are many clubs or associations for you to join, Uni life can be really interesting if you want it to be.
I don't know bout other countries, but I think universities in Taiwan are really really fun!!
There are so many things going on all year round, I guess I'm gonna blog bout it more in the future :)
First I'm gonna write bout this activity we had last night :)
All faculties have this activity called 制服之夜, aka uniform night
Basically its just us freshmen performing a sketch for the sophomores.
It's a tradition and I think all Unis in Taiwan have it.
At least CK's uni has it too.
So last night was my faculty's uniform night.
They divided us into different regions, according to where we came from.
There's 6 groups : North, Middle, South, Kaoshiong+Pingtung 1&2 (there's too many of them), and Others, which includes us foreigners and those from Taitung,Penghu and Jinmen.
We spent days and weeks preparing for this sketch, there were lots of rehearsals and we had to make props too. If my parents find out that I spent most of my time rehearsing for sketches and making props, they would think that they sent me to a drama school instead.
I didnt take any pictures of our group while we were rehearsing, so I had to steal some photos from other groups lol
郁澤 trying on my tube lol
This was taken at 2am, the night before our uniform night.
We rehearsed until 3am
Needless to say, most of the guys had to wear dresses and take on female roles
Not to mention its also their custom for the sketch to be "yellow", even though some say we overdid it this year lol
Stage decorated by my classmates
Some of the stills from our sketches :
This is my dress he's wearing!
This is the second time I've lent my classmates this dress, and they kept asking me if I'm ever gonna wear i again cause it seems that they have ruined the dress.(sad face)
Finally, a picture of us dancing :D
Last performance of the night
After all the performances there's this voting session where we stick a love shaped paper onto the representatives:
Our representative, Steven
Let the counting begin!
Surprisingly , we came in first! yay!!
honestly it was a huge surprise cause we didnt have much props and other groups did an amazing job
But I guess our hard work paid off :'|
After everything ended the only thing left to do is to take lots of pictures!
Jimmy the strawman and Steven the lion
Our ending pose!
Another prop by the Middle Region
Tainan's very own incredible Hulk
Obviously I must take pictures with the people who borrowed my clothes
Look at his sexy fishnet stockings !
Another one of my outfits !
This is 育謙, we always borrow each other's clothes. Teehee
My rommie said to me after the performance: I keep seeing your clothes on stage! LOL
Seeing him wearing my skirts and denim shorts makes me feel so miserable, just look at his legs!
Just to prove my point , I'm gonna upload another picture of him wearing my body hugging skirt, during one of our annual activities - 吃東西大賽
